revolt2revoltrevolt3

A mixed performance art/exhibit installation in collaboration with Kathy Kim.

This project explores the meaning of  revolting against oppressive forces (represented by a red shag rug).  We first poured glitter and flour into a red shag rug.   DK Pan and Sheri Brown performed as boxing dancers while suspended from chains over the rug.  We then pulled the shag rug up on the chain and beat the glitter into the audience.

Audience members then also had a chance to beat the rug.

The “Revolt” painting reflected the meaning of the performance art piece, depicting a dancer suspended by lightning over red flames.
