This project was originally created as a part of the Luminous Garden at Electric Sky, and participated in the Luminous Garden at Electric Sky, Lusio, and Arts-a-Glow in 2016.

Materials include vinyl, vellum, arduinos, radio transceivers, and batteries.

Greg Larson helped with some of the electronics.

Sensor Mote Swarm I

A swarm of responsive, geometric, alien critters (“motes”). The swarm’s animation was coordinated among the swarm motes and a master mote using arduinos and radio transceivers. This was an experiment in mesh networking.
